Department for Industrial Health Affairs of National Petrochemical Company
One of the most important goals of large industries is to enhance production with better quality in the light of attention to health, safety and environmental issues, create a healthy workforce, protected from diseases and occupational accidents and a pollutant-free environment.
Safety
Sustainable and safe production and accident prevention is one of the main goals of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company. Given the recent privatization of the petrochemical industry in Iran, this goal has been translated into policymaking, planning and monitoring production units and petrochemical holding companies by NPC to ensure safety indicators while ensuring sustainable production throughout the industry with more focus on the safety status of the petrochemical industry.
Environment
The petrochemical industry, as one of the main sectors of the country's industry, is a pioneer in creating value added from oil and gas resources. The industry, as the largest non-oil exporting sector in the country, has a key role in its economic prosperity, sustainable development, localization of technology, development of downstream (complementary) industries, job creation, etc. According to 2018 figures, 59 petrochemical complexes with a total production capacity of 72.3 million tons of products per year are operating in Iran.
Passive Defense
The Passive Defense Department of the National Petrochemical Company was established back in 2010 in a bid to protect and reduce the vulnerabilities caused by domestic and foreign threats and secure the petrochemical industry facilities. Given that a set of civilian actions is defined in order to enhance deterrence, reduce vulnerability, continue essential activities, promote national stability and facilitate crisis management against threats in the form of passive defense, the company first identifies and evaluates the complexes in terms of their vitality, sensitiveness and importance; the most important goals of this listing is to implement the requirements and approvals of passive defense in the complexes in accordance with the nature and status of each company.
HSE Performance Planning and Evaluation
Today, organizations have grown so complex that they cannot survive without careful planning, evaluation, and performance measurement. Planning requires awareness of future opportunities and threats and anticipation of how to deal with them, and performance appraisal makes the system intelligent and motivates people to behave optimally.
